About the artist

Daina Valiulis is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist whose practice bridges storytelling, intuition, and symbolic visual language. After more than a decade working as an assistant costume designer and illustrator in film and television, she shifted her focus toward exploring themes of embodiment, transformation, and the unseen dimensions of human experience. Her current body of work, Soul Frequency, translates intuitive and archetypal imagery into digital compositions that function as both visual narratives and contemplative spaces. Drawing on a meditative, process-driven approach, her work explores the relationship between inner states and external form. In parallel, she develops textile designs informed by her background in costume and her interest in the emotional and psychological impact of color, pattern, and motif. Her work has been featured in multiple online exhibitions and a physical gallery show, and has received awards and honourable mentions in international juried competitions, including the Fusion Arts Women’s International Competition 2025 and the Marin County Society of Artists: Fresh Art 2025 show and competition. She currently has a solo exhibition running online at Light, Space and Time Gallery until April 14th.
